Giselle Thrirakul was drawn to Brighton Center for its unwavering commitment to supporting the whole child—especially children with disabilities—and empowering families every step of the way. What inspires her most about coming to work each day is being part of a team that believes every child deserves the opportunity to thrive. For Giselle, the impact is clear not only in student progress but in how families feel heard, supported, and uplifted throughout their journey.
One of Giselle’s most powerful breakthrough moments involved a student who used an AAC device to communicate. In the beginning, he was hesitant to engage during structured routines like mealtimes, often relying on gestures or behaviors to communicate. Through consistent support and trust-building, he eventually sat independently at the lunch table, opened his device, and clearly requested a food item—all on his own. That moment was transformative. Since then, he’s used his AAC device more purposefully and confidently, expressing his needs, wants, and personality. For Giselle, it was a reminder that communication is not just about language—it’s about connection, autonomy, and dignity.
Giselle’s greatest hope is that every child in her care feels seen, valued, and empowered. She strives to create a classroom where children grow not only academically, but also in their confidence, identity, and self-expression.
What Giselle loves most about Brighton is the strong culture of support that extends to children, families, and staff alike. It feels like a well-knit family, rooted in compassion, inclusion, and advocacy. That shared sense of purpose is what makes Brighton so special to her.
To families, Giselle shares:
“I don’t just see your child as a student—I see them as a whole person, with unique strengths, challenges, and dreams. I’m honored to be part of their journey and will always support them with care, intention, and belief in who they are becoming.
