Illyana Charo

Assistant Educator

Illyana Charo was drawn to Brighton Center because of her deep desire to support children who may need a little extra help and to make a meaningful difference in their lives. For her, it’s more than just childcare—it’s knowing that the work she does each day truly matters to a child, their family, and their future. What excites her most is the opportunity to be part of that impact, simply by showing up and doing what she loves.

One of Illyana’s most memorable moments came when a student who had struggled to take even the smallest steps in her gait trainer began zooming across the room with confidence. The joy on the child’s face and the pride she felt in herself perfectly captured the heart of Illyana’s work.

In her classroom, Illyana’s goal is for every child to feel seen, heard, and capable. She hopes they leave with a deep belief in themselves, knowing that someone believed in them first.

What Illyana loves most about the Brighton community is the shared mission—to reach as many children and families as possible. The unity, support, and celebration of every little victory make Brighton a truly special place to grow and give.

To the families she serves, Illyana says:
“It truly amazes me every single day that you trust us with your whole world. I don’t take that lightly. Your child becomes a part of my heart, and even after they leave our room, I carry them with me.”
