Michelle Paredes began her journey at Brighton Center because she was inspired by its mission—to help children of all abilities reach their full potential. Supporting and celebrating each child’s growth is not just part of her work; it’s a personal passion. Every morning, Michelle looks forward to greeting her students, building strong connections, and crafting inclusive lesson plans that meet the unique needs of every learner.
One of Michelle’s most meaningful classroom moments came while working with a student who uses an AAC device. Watching the child independently navigate the device to express themselves was incredibly rewarding. For Michelle, those moments are a powerful reminder that communication tools like AAC don’t just support language—they open new pathways in the brain and empower children to be heard and understood.
Michelle hopes her classroom is remembered as a space filled with kindness, understanding, and fun. Her goal is to spark curiosity and help each child fall in love with learning, building a foundation they’ll carry throughout their academic journey.
What Michelle loves most about the Brighton community is its shared commitment to the mission. From staff collaboration to community outreach and fundraising efforts, every part of the organization works toward the same goal—ensuring all children have access to opportunity and support.
To families, Michelle shares:
“I’m so thankful to have your child be part of my own journey as an educator. Each child teaches me something new, and I’m a better teacher because of the time we’ve spent together. It’s an honor to learn and grow alongside them.”
