Nicole Miller’s journey into early childhood education began in a public school district, where she discovered her passion for supporting young children. Her path to Brighton Center was inspired by a meaningful connection with a former student—now like family—who received all her care and services at Brighton.
When the child’s mother told Nicole, “This is your calling,” she knew it was time to take the next step. Today, Nicole is growing as an early childhood educator, with the long-term goal of becoming an Early Childhood Special Education (ECSE) teacher. For her, Brighton is not just a workplace—it’s where she’s meant to be.
One of Nicole’s most unforgettable moments was witnessing a student take her very first independent steps in SMOs. Those seven tiny steps, filled with determination and joy, reminded Nicole why she shows up every day. It’s moments like these—big milestones wrapped in little victories—that stay with her forever.
Nicole hopes to create a classroom where every child feels safe, happy, and inspired to explore. She wants her students to arrive each day with joy and curiosity, and for their families to feel confident knowing their child is seen, supported, and celebrated.
What Nicole treasures most about the Brighton community is the strong sense of connection. The collaboration, open communication, and shared commitment to children and families make Brighton a place where everyone is working together toward something bigger.
If Nicole could describe what these children mean to her in one word, it would be “Blessing.” “They teach me something new every day—about life, about myself, and about the kind of teacher I strive to be.”
